Introduction
Welcome to Meetchi. Your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We do not collect or store personal information such as email addresses or usernames. The only information we collect includes:
- Session Cookie: Used to manage your current session in the App.
- Room ID Cookie: Used to identify the chat room you are connected to.
Google Authentication
We use Google Authentication to verify the age of our users. This ensures compliance with our +18 policy. No personal data from Google Authentication is stored or shared.
Firebase
We use Firebase for session management and authentication. We do not store any personal data such as emails or usernames in Firebase.
Content Moderation and Safety
Age requirement: Meetchi is for adults only. By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. Nudity and sexual content are not allowed.
Automated checks: While your camera is on, the App periodically sends still frames from your own camera to our servers, where automated systems check them for nudity. We do not record or store video or audio of your calls.
Third-party AI review: When a frame appears to contain nudity, it may be sent to an AI moderation service provided by OpenAI to confirm the result before any action is taken. The frame is used only to decide whether it breaks our rules.
Enforcement: If nudity is confirmed, the call is ended and matching is paused temporarily. Repeated violations lead to longer restrictions or a permanent ban. To enforce restrictions, we store a pseudonymised (hashed) identifier of your device and, for guest accounts, of your IP address.
Evidence and reports: When a call is ended automatically, we keep the frame that triggered it, encrypted, so that our moderators can check the decision and reverse mistakes. When you report another user, a still frame of their video at the time of the report is attached to the report. These frames are accessible only to our moderators and are deleted as soon as a moderator has reviewed the action or resolved the report; any frame not yet deleted is removed automatically after 14 days. Reports are reviewed by our team, usually within 24–72 hours.
Account Deletion
Users may delete their account at any time. Once deleted, all session and room ID cookies will be removed, and no data will be retained.
Data Security
We prioritize the security of your data. While we do not store personal information, we ensure that cookies used in the App are encrypted and protected. Firebase also implements strong security measures.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with the updated effective date.
Legal Status
Meetchi is operated by MEETCHI LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom. We follow applicable privacy standards and good practices in handling user data.
Age Declaration and Responsibility
Meetchi relies on users’ self-declared age. By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. If a user provides an incorrect age (e.g., under 18), Meetchi shall not be held responsible for any consequences arising from such false declarations. Users are fully responsible for the accuracy of their age information.
