To keep in touch after a good random match, send a Meetchi friend request during the call or add the person from Recent Matches when that feature is available to your account. If they accept, the connection appears in Friends and private messaging can continue later. Recent Matches can help you find an account again, but it does not reconnect the ended video call.
Add the person during the call
Open the in-call options while you are still matched and choose the friend action. Send one request and let the other person decide. Next is the primary move-on action, while extra account actions sit behind the additional controls.
What happens to a friend request?
- You send the request from the active account context.
- The other user can accept or decline it.
- After acceptance, open Friends to find the connection and its private conversation.
- Private messages remain separate from public Global Rooms.
If you tap Next or Skip by mistake
Next leaves the current RTC room and matching room, then searches for someone else. There is no current undo or button that restores the ended call. Open Matches to check the Recent Matches list and send an Add request; Meetchi currently presents this as a Gold benefit, and an account can also be unavailable. If a friend request was already accepted, use Friends.
Message later without sharing personal details
Once you are friends, keep early conversation in Meetchi private messaging. You do not need to reveal a phone number, personal email, workplace, school, address or other social profile. Be wary of anyone rushing you off-platform, asking for verification codes or requesting money.
Friend and Block are different
Friend creates a mutual connection after acceptance and enables the ongoing social flow. Block is a protective account control for stopping unwanted contact; it is not a private or hidden friend list. Report rule-breaking separately so moderation receives the relevant reason.
Why a user may be unavailable
A request may be declined or pending, the account may no longer be available, either person may have blocked the other, or an account action may restrict access. Meetchi cannot promise that every prior connection remains searchable or messageable.
Current limits to remember
- No live-call reconnect or undo for an accidental Next.
- Recent Matches is an account feature currently promoted with Gold; it shows accounts and is not call history or a replay.
- A sent request is not a friendship until accepted.
- Private messaging depends on the current friend/account state.
If contact becomes uncomfortable, stop replying, block the account and review the moderation process.
